The history of Venice Carnival
Venice’s Carnival, a captivating historical and cultural event, dates back to the Middle Ages. An emblematic celebration of Venetian identity, it has evolved from a simple street party into a sumptuous display of art and culture. Through the centuries, Carnival has been a space of freedom and anonymity, offered by elegant masks, allowing Venetians of all ranks to mingle without social constraints. Today, it attracts visitors from all over the world, enchanted by its unique blend of tradition, mystery and artistic splendor.
